LLCHC  has implemented a range of  projects as outlined below:

  1. Home Based Care Program with support from CAFOD
  • The program aims at building the capacities of communities to care for the chronically ill patients in their communities and mitigate the HIV impact
  1. OVC Program with support from USAID/ CRS
  • The commission has been carrying out successful case management to the vulnerable children reaching out to over 20,000 children, the program includes secondary and Primary school support, disability screening and provision of disability devices.

 

  1. The SRHR (Youth/Adolescents)  with Support from Plan International
    • Provision of youth friendly health services to 10 health facilities in Lilongwe
    • Formulation of teen clubs
    • Provision of Brail booklets to the visually impaired on Sexually Reproductive health and rights
    • Training the youth on Life skills

    • The project is reaching out to 26000 house holds on scaling up nutrition using lead farmers and care group model

  • The project has established 40 CBCCs in Lilongwe
  1. HIV Impact mitigation with support from USAID/ Counterpart International
  • 50 Support groups of People living with HIV formed across the Diocese
  • Formed 25 support groups for the youth living with HIV

 

  1. Malaria Prevention Project with support from CAFOD
  • Mobilization of the communities on use of mosquito nets and malaria prevention in general
  • Information, Education  and Communication to primary schools on Malaria prevention
  • Importance of IPT in pregnancy

 

  1. Tuberculosis Prevention Project with support from Global Fund/ Action aid
    • Community sputum collection for case finding
    • Hot spot management

  • Capacity to Produce radio programs on all projects being implemented.

 

  1. Climate Change Initiative with support from USAID/CRS
  • Over 2000 households have been provided with seedlings to plant new trees besides having woodlots

 

  1. Water Hygiene and Sanitation (WASH) with support from CAFOD
  • More than 100 households are drilled on community lead total sanitation where the community is sensitized on proper disposal of waste including excreta and the advantage of drinking safe water.
